PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Functional Thinking
Why is she aggressive? Why does he run out of the building? Why won't they put their phones down and get engaged in my lesson?

Functional thinking changes lives. It grants us the power to answer these questions, and even better, to use these answers to build powerful interventions that lead to lasting change for our students. This session is designed to teach your staff how to find the WHY behind the behavior.
In this session, participants will...
-
Learn the common functions of behavior (the why behind the behavior)
-
Learn how to informally determine* the function of real student behaviors they see every day
-
Take the why and turn it into a intervention

*Special note: this session is not designed to train staff to conduct a functional behavior assessment (FBA). This session gives the gift of functional thinking to a wide audience, allowing them to support students well before an FBA is needed.
